ARBOR HOUSE PORTLAND provides a safe, supportive environment in a community setting to women in recovery from substance abuse.

At Arbor House Portland our mission is to provide culturally-specific and gender-specific residential and wrap-around recovery services for women, non-binary, and femme-identifying individuals in recovery from substance use disorder.  A central part of our mission is creating a network of alumni that provide peer support, a built-in recovery network, and sponsorship for women currently living in the facility. In addition to housing, we provide recovery-adjacent services to all women in the facility, including vocational guidance, resume building, personal training from a certified personal trainer, assistance navigating social services, assistance navigating family and criminal court (probation, parole, expungement) and biweekly counseling sessions - services that the marginalized populations we serve are in dire need of.

The house is centrally located in the historic Laurelhurst/North Tabor neighborhood of Portland, with easy access to public transit, and in walking distance to both Hollywood and Belmont Neighborhoods, as well as Mt Tabor.

Residents are expected to attend 2 outside 12-step or recovery-based meetings a week, in addition to attending house meetings. Residents must be either participating in (1) an Intensive Outpatient Program, (2) working/volunteering at least 25 hours a week, or (3) taking 8 or more credit hours at a college or university.

The goal of sober living in a safe environment is to learn the skills needed to transition to an independent life in recovery. The requirements for residence and rules of the house facilitate the steps necessary to rebuilding her life and establishing herself in a supportive community.

We accept women age 18 and over, regardless of race, creed, religion, ethnic background or sexual orientation.
